of the 6th October, regarding the methods of the Persian
quarantine authorities, X am directed by Mr.secretary Henderson
to transmit to you, for the consideration of the Minister of
Health, the accompanying copy of a further despatch from His
Majesty 1 s Minister at Tehran on this subject.
2. Sir R.Olive recommends that the British Delegate on
the Permanent Committee of the "Office International d’Hygi&ne
rublique" be instructed to endeavour to effect a satisfactory
settlement of certain matters reported in hi© previous
despatches, provided that the action taken by the Persian
authorities is considered to have contravened the provisions of
the International unitary Conventions* In particular, he
draws attentlQn t0 ths importance of preventing if possible the
reimposition by the Persian authorities of quarantine on
Persia’s land frontier with Iraq. I am to express the hope
that the possibility of action on these lines may be favourably
considered, and to state that Mr*Henderson will, if necessary, be
prepared to instruct Hi® Majesty’a Representative at Tehran to
supply any further details regarding the possible contravention
of International Conventions which Mr.Greenwood may consider
necessary to enable the question to be profitably pursued in the
manner suggested in your letter under reply.
