Letter from the Secretary to the Government of India, Foreign Department, No. 1692 P
dated 3rd August 1872—Stating, with reference to this Government letters ending with
No. 4317 of 1872, that the Government of India approves of the instructions issued by
the Commissioner in Sind to Captain Miles regarding adjustment of British grievances j
in connection with capture of Gwadur, and that if the two horses belonging to Abdool
Azeez ordered by Sir W. Merewether to be sent to Gwadur and handed over to the ^
Muscat authorities have not yet been delivered over, the best course will be to sell them '
and devote the proceeds as compensation to the British subjects whom Abdool Azeez •
robbed of 681 dollars, any money remaining being paid to Abdool Azeez or to the
Governor of Gwadur, &c.
Resolution.— Copy of this letter should be forwarded to the Corumis-
sioner in Sind for information, and for the issue of necessary orders to Captain
Miles, if the horses have not been delivered over.
