I understand from the Security Authorities Bagdad that it is
quite impossible to arrange interrogation in Kermanshah or
Hamadan area, and that this must take place in Tehran or Ahwaz. For
obvious reasons the former is most unsatisfactory from point of
view of proper interrogation, whilst the latter will be strongly
opposed by the Prime Minister. It seems important that we should
try to round up fifth columnists as speedily as possible but if
Bagdad interrogation is [grp.undec] my task will of course be
rendered far more difficult. I am refraining from approaching
the Prime Minister again until I hear your views.
