It is reported that at Kooskzar the camp of General Goldsmid was plundered
of cash and sundry other things.
The Collectorate of Shiraz is to be entrusted to the Kowam-ool-Mulk. I n
his absence the nephew of the Kowam is to be appointed-

Your telegram of 28 th. July. How have negotiations progressed for obtain
ing lease of Bunder Abbass for Syud Toorkee ? Hajee Ahmed’s defalcations
(your letter 14th July to Viceroy) may dispose Shah to accept good offices
for Toorkee.

Recommandee .—Your Lordship’s telegram of 8th. Nothing is yet settled,

send an agent here to negotiate and conclude ?

Please ask Colonel Pelly if Syud Toorkee would be prepared to send

Telegram dated the 25th September 1871.
From—Political Secretary, Gunneshkhund.
To—Foreign Secretary, Simla.
With reference to your cipher telegram of the 16th, Colonel Pelly tele
graphs 24th. I think he would gladly do so if he had reason to expect that the
mission would prove successful. Will telegraph again after communication with
him.

Telegram dated the 6th October 1871.
From—Political Secretary, Bombay.
To—Foreign Secretary, Simla.
Colonel Pelly telegraphs to-day. My telegram of 24th ultimo. Major
Boss telegraphs that I have correctly expressed His Highness’s views. He would
be unwilling to incur expense of agent without some assurance of obtaining terms
equally favorable with those granted to Salem.
