412 P, dated 24th February 1871*
regarding the management of the
Murree and Boogtee tribes.
Forwards copy of papers received
from Commissioner in Sindh, regard
ing the state of affairs in Khelat?
With reference to the foregoing
correspondence, directs that the rela
tions of Government with Murree and
Booglee tribes shall henceforth be in
the hands of Political Superintendent,
Upper Sindh Frontier, with the Depu
ty Commissioner, Dehra Ghazee
Khan, under him. Adds Us. 32,040,
for one year, to the subsidy of Khan
of Khelat, so that he may entertain
Miunee and Boogtee horsemen for
the security and peace of frontier.
Concurs with His Excellency the
Governor of Bombay as to relations
of the Khan with his nobles, and
directs that the above-named officers
should shape their attitudes towards
the subjects of the Khan accordingly.
Also expresses an opinion that it is
not needful to make any representa
tions to the Ameer of Cabul respect
ing the petition of Moolla Mahomed.
In reply to above, sanctions the
grant applied for conditionally that
the whole question of the grant be
taken up shortly and discussed in
all its bearings.
Beports that some Brahooe Sirdars Leader of a tribe or a polity; also refers to a military rank or title given to a commander of an army or division.
have broken out in rebellion in Khelat
territory.
