and expresses his obligations to Her
Majesty’s Envoy at Teheran for the
successful termination of the nego
tiations.

forwards confidentially a collection
of further correspondence with Mr.
Alison and General Goldsmid, relative
to the settlement of the Perso-
Belooch frontier.
States that Captain St. John’s
services are available for the boundary
work, and that his employment has
been sanctioned by the India Office The department of the British Government to which the Government of India reported between 1858 and 1947. The successor to the Court of Directors. .
Observes that he had intended that
Quarter Master Sergeant Bower should
have accompanied Captain Lovett to
Seistan where his presence would have
been most useful. Bemarks that, if
neither Captain Harrison, nor the
Gwadur Political Officer are to join
Captain St. John, the latter might
require Quarter Master Serjeant
Bower.
In continuation of No, 1907 P.
dated 7th September 1871, forwards
copies of telegrams relating to the
mapping out of the land marks of the
Perso-Belooch Erontier, and requests
that he will supply the papers con
cerning the acceptance of the Mekran
boundary by the Shah.
States that the Surveyor General
has been requested to send to the
Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Gwadur, certain
articles telegraphed for by Captain
St. John, at Teheran, as required for
the Beloochistan Erontier Survey.
