Submits, for the information of the Supreme Government, translation of
Cahnl Diary, from 31st October to 2nd November 1871 inclusive.

General Daood Shah§ has written to the Ameer that, owing to his being
§ commandant of . cabui Army lately unable to procure carriage, he has been obliged to
at Fur rah. halt at Girishk, hut has now left for Candahar.
Also that after one day’s sojourn at Candahar he will proceed to Cahul. Accord
ing to the date given in the above communication of the General, it appears
that the army under him will arrive to-day at Candahar. Though the General
has written that he will halt only one day at this place, the army will have to
remain there for some days, for the purpose of repairing saddles, &c., of horses
of the battery of gnus summoned hy the Ameer from Candahar to Cahul.
