ments (for the realization of Government revenue), and to take accounts.of the
province, hut the Moostowfee is not willing to go.

should keep himself free from association with either of them. After mastering
the contents of this letter the Ameer expressed himself vexed with them.
Some people from Ghuznee had come to Cabul to seek redress for the
oppression of their Governor, but as this Governor is a relation of Moostowfee
Hubeeboolla, they have gone hack without success.

A letter from the Governor of Kohistan has reached the Ameer to thp

following effect:—
The people of the Kohistan hills are at murderous feuds with each other
Owing to disaffection having stirred up between the sons of Jullundur Khan a
Chief of Kohistan, the Ooloos (disconnected tribes) have collected themselves
to the strength of four or five thousand men on each side to aid of both parties
and a quarrel will shortly occur. Should this be the case amono’ these peonle ,
there is cause for great anxiety, (1) because in the event of their continuino* a f
hostilities the Government revenue will sustain loss, and delay will happen in
its realization; (2) because by observing the above disorder in Kohistan the
Punj Sherees will also rebel; and (3) because I am afraid that the above peonle
will some day kill me also.” After mastering the contents of this letter, the
t Eldest son of^simhghassee Sheredii Ameer ordered Khooshdil Khan J to go to Kohis-
. . ian ;. . n . and to bring quickly the Mulliks of both of
the above parties to Cabul. A report will be submitted as to the measures
adopted on arrival of these representatives at Cabul.
