On enquiry I learnt that Abdool Azeez bin Saood was visiting Sheikh Esau.
I remained at a distance until Abdool Azeez arrived on horseback with ten attend-
ants following and four m front, together with a crowd of attending Bedouins.
J . o°l Azeez is a tall lad and good-looking. They say his age is more than that
which I formerly reported, and he looks like a Chief.

Abdooi Azeez, defrays his own expenses.
An opportunity offering I will forward to you these notes.

Ea.hrein boafs that carried Turkish stores from Kuteef to Ojair have returned
to Bahrein. They say that a kafila A train of travellers; a caravan; or any large party of travellers. had arrived from A1 Hassa, accompanied
by some 30 Turkish Cavalry for its protection. The Ejman Bedouins attacked
the kafila A train of travellers; a caravan; or any large party of travellers. and plundered it and fled. The Turkish Horse pm-sued and killed
12 of the marauders and recovered 11 camels.
Travellers from A1 Hassa relate that Eereck Pasha An Ottoman title used after the names of certain provincial governors, high-ranking officials and military commanders. wrote to Saood bin
Eysul that he should come in to him and visit, and the messenger had started,
but the impression is that Saood will not meet the Pasha An Ottoman title used after the names of certain provincial governors, high-ranking officials and military commanders. .
A boat has arrived from Kuteef and informs that since arrival of the Turks
there cholera has been general owing to the filth of the town, the number of
persons collected, and the presence of the Howajjir.
According to what I have heard there is much small-pox at Guttur and
sic in ori£ many have died. The fear of small-pox causes them to fly from
the towns and they die a Eursak outside.
The Oman pearl-fishers call at Bahrein to purchase dates. They inform
me that some of them went to Adeyd and saw that every Eriday they hoist
there the Turkish flag.
