In continuation of No. 105, of 11th
August 1871, forwards, with remarks,
a memorandum of a conference held
with the Minister for Foreign Affairs,
respecting the settlement of the Perso-
Khelat boundary question.
Subjoins letter addressed to him by
General Goldsmid, with a memorandum
of what occurred at an interview with the
Persian Commissioner on the subject of
the Perso-Khelat Frontier.
Beports that Mirza Mehdi Khan
called on him with a communication
from the Minister for Foreign Affairs,
respecting the Perso-Khelat Frontier
question, which he confidentially men
tioned to a member of the Legation,
that it might be considered as settled
in the manner desired by the British
Government.
Beports that on the Shah’s urging
the acceptance of his boundary line for
Mekran, he observed that it was desir
able, in the interest of a speedy settle
ment, that His Majesty should appoint
an early day for receiving and hearing
General Goldsmid on the subject.
Forwards papers on the Perso-Khelat
Frontier question.
Forwards copy of memorandum from
the Persian Minister of Foreign Affairs
with remarks on General Goldsmid’s
correspondence with the Persian Com
missioner, with General Goldsmid s

The papers include: correspondence from Charles Alison, HBM's Minister at Teheran [Tehran]; correspondence from Goldsmid; the Persian Government's acceptance of the frontier settlement; reports of diplomatic contacts with the Persian Minister of Foreign Affairs; the raising by the Persian Government of a question over the status of Kohuk; and the congratulations of the Government of India to Goldsmid and his staff for the conduct of the settlement.
