From—C. Alison, Esq,., c. b., Her Britannic Majesty’s Minister at Teheran.
To—The Right Hon’ble the Earl op Granville, k. g., &c., &c., &c.
I have the honor to subjoin a letter* addressed to me by General
* Au U st 16 No i 64 - Goldsmid, enclosing a memorandum of an inter-
(Sent by General Goidsmid.) view with the Persian Commissionei on the subject
of the Perso-Khelat frontier.
The Persian Commissioner declines a regular discussion of this question,
and suggested that General Goidsmid should have a private interview with the
King respecting it. General Goidsmid, in accepting this offer, justly remarked
that it must not he expected that he should subscribe to touching territory
that was not his to dispose of.
I must apologize for sending the enclosures in original; but Mr. Dickson,
in addition to his other duties, is burdened with the whole of the copying de
partment for Your Lordship’s office, and has no time to transcribe them.
