Mahomed Azecm Khan, Herati, late Kouzdar of Lohgurd, will accompany
these envoys as far as Kurram, and from Kurrum Sirdar Wulli Mahomed
Khan will arrange to convoy them as far as Tlml, l. e., the British border. They
left to-day, and about eighty men have accompanied them.
Naib Mahomed Alum Khan, Governor of Toorkistan, has reported to the
Ameer that the sons of Meer Hukoomut Khan*
* Late Meer of Maunena. w ]] 0 were at Herat, having effected escape some way
or other, made an attack on the Mai men a border by the aid of the
people of the Emak tribe and the “ Ooloos” tribes of Maimena, Though
Meer Baheem Beg, agent at Maimena. was wounded, the sons of Meer
Ilukoomut Khan were otherwise unsuccessful. It appears from the circum
stances of this attack that probably the sons of the above Meer have not com
mitted this attack without the instigation of the Cahul authorities as the latter
are displeased with the Meer of Maimena, It is impossible that they could
have effected escape from Herat with the idea of attacking the Maimena
border without the consent of the said authorities,

dent at Bokhara, is enclosed.
Meer Akhor Ahmed Khan* is still at Cabul, by order of the Ameer, for the
purpose of rendering the accounts of his Province,
and his officials have been summoned from Jellala-

At the time of the arrival of Sirdar Mahomed Yacoob Khan at Cabul, Sirdar

His Highness was displeased with Mahomed Yacoob
Khan, probably the management of the Province of Herat might be granted to
him (Mahomed Ibraheem ) ; but as Mahomed Yacoob Khan has now been
ordered to go hack to Herat (to assume the reins of its government), Mahomed
Ibraheem’s expectations have vanished, and he is somewhat annoyed.

Mahomed Khan”) near Deh-baree for Herat.
The two Herafi infantry regiments who were disarmed previously have
been ordered to accompany him. About two hundred Cal mice officers and
sepoys employed in these regiments have been separafed from them, and the
rest have been permitted to leave without receiving road expenses,
