Your Lordship will observe from the subjoined translation of a letter*
* August loth. addressed to me by the Minister for Foreign Affairs,
. # that the King having carefully perused the map,
the Minister appoints a day for a conference at which he implies that the ques
tion will be brought to a satisfactory conclusion.
Translation oj' a memorandum from Mirza Saeed Khan, to Her Britannic Majestfs Minister
at Teheran } —dated §th August 1871.
The Mission memorandum of the 31st July, and its letter of the 3rd
August, respecting the Beloochistau andKhelat frontier, have been submitted to
His Majesty the Shah. His Majesty has ordered me to inform His Excellency
the British Minister that as His Alajesty is perfectly acquainted with geography
and the use (science of maps), he (Mr. Alison) is requested to forward the
map prepared by His Excellency General Goldsmid to the Persian Foreign
Office, so that it may at once be submitted to His Majesty, after which what
ever opinion His Majesty may form thereon will be communicated to the
Mission.

In compliance with the request contained in the memorandum from the
Persian Minister for Foreign Affairs of yesterday’s date. Her Majesty Minister
begs to forward herewith the map drawn up under General Goldsmid s super
vision, together with translation of a report written by that officer on the actual
boundary between Persia and Kbelat.
