When Sirdar Mahomed Yakoob Khan took flight from Oabul, the Ameer
t Father-in-law of Mahomed Yakoob became displeased with Sirdar Yahaya Khan f on
Khan. account of his being a relation and a counsellor of
Mahomed Yakoob, but when the latter returned to Cabul, he (Yahaya Khan)
was re-assured. At present the Ameer again complains against him in Durbar.
He (Yahaya Khan) one day went as far as the gate-way of the Ameer’s chief
harem to bid him compliments and to give him an account of himself, but the
Ameer did not wish to see him. The Sirdar then said that he found His High
ness often displeased with him, but, though he had carefully meditated, he could
find no fault in himself, and that, supposing he was guilty, he should be either
pardoned or allowed to go to Mecca. The Ameer gave no reply, but expressed
himself annoyed with him. Discussion about this displeasure still continues,
and the attendance of the Sirdar in Durbar has been discontinued.
The Ameer had sent information regarding the deaths of Sirdar Mahomed
Aslum Khan and Sirdar Mahomed Hussein Khan to the Governors of different
provinces and in reply to one of these letters Sirdar Meer Afzul Khan, Governor
of Purrah, expressed himself very sorry, and said that no such occurrence had
hitherto happened in the family.
The Ameer has sent a reply to the above expression of His Highness’ dis
pleasure (with Meer Afzul Khan).
