The papers concern the recruitment of men and provision of supplies for the Bahrain State Police. Several matters are covered by the file, including:

• the recruitment of men, mostly from the Mekran region;
• the arrangements for their passage, pay, and accommodation;
• complaints by the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. about the Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. Guard's behaviour and his orders for a change in their dress;
• discussions over procedural changes, such as what channels particular items should be ordered through;
