William Newnham transmits a translated letter from Sooltan bin Suggur [Sulṭān bin Ṣaqr Āl Qāsimī One of the ruling families of the United Arab Emirates; also used to refer to a confederation of seafaring Arabs led by the Qāsimī tribe from Ras al Khaima. , ruler of Sharjah], dated 8 December 1826, complaining of the violence and oppression of his neighbours and of the instructions communicated to the Persian secretary. Newnham informs the Resident that the Governor of Bombay will be happy to receive his report.
