aiarly orders requested particularly as regards additional
clerical assistance which is badly needed. Richardson might
possibly be appointed Assistant Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Muscat if
he is not required at Lingah, but on general grounds X should
preier to post junior officer who would be learning Arabic
and Political work at the same time.
