1 hfve the honour to enclose a cupy of a very
intereating letter which I have juat received from the
Political Agentf Muscat* No•0/28 of the 4th January 1*41
regarding affairs in the Bhahirah.
2* It would be a serioua set back if the Sultan were to
lose ground in this area# and our interests lie not merely
in the maintenance of hi a positiont but its gradual
consolidation throughout the territories which formerly
belonged to the rulers of Muscat and Oman*

Correspondence in 1945 and 1946 discusses Sultan Sa'id bin Taimur's desire to obtain a guarantee of RAF support for any incursion into the interior when the ailing Imam died.
