In the letter the Acting Resident, [James Pringle] Riach, relates to the claims of Prince Abbas Meerza against some Jewish people for money which Riach ascertained may have already been paid. It involves the seizure of a servant of the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. , and the intervention of the Acting Resident in the matter.
