The correspondence discusses the details of these incidents (most of which relate to Bahraini vessels) and also contains broader discussions about how Britain should react to them.
On folios 53-55, the file contains the protocol agreed on in the event of a commanding officer of a British ship observing an Iranian warship or customs vessel interfering with a protected Arab vessel.
The file also contains an original account (in Arabic and English) of a Bahraini captain named Ali bin Abdullah Al Naaimi written after he and his vessel had been detained by the Persian authorities in 1941 (f 61).
