William Newnham acknowledges receipt of the Resident's letter no. 68, dated 26 October, reporting the substance of the Resident's conversation with the Imaum [Imam] of Muscat regarding the island of Mombassa [Mombasa]. The Governor approves of the Resident's proceedings as reported in the letter. The letter also referrs to another letter dated 12 October announcing the recall of the British Establishment from Mombassa.
