Arrangement

The Government Gazettes are arranged in chronological order, starting with the earliest (7 January 1945) at the beginning of the file, and ending with the latest (11 May 1947) at the end of the file. There is a gap in the chronological sequence of Gazettes, between 1 April 1945 and 2 March 1947. Each Gazette begins with its own contents page, listing serial number, subject, notification and page number. The page numbers listed on the contents pages refer to the Gazettes’ own printed pagination sequence, which runs as an unbroken sequence through each year’s editions.
