Includes an outline plan of Ras Morbut with three corresponding sections and a ground plan of ‘Proposed Tower and Battery for Ras Morbut’. Landmarks labelled for reference with measurements reported and high water levels shown.

Signed by the Special Committee on the Aden Defences formed of Lieutenant-Colonel C.W. Grant and Major Artillery William Jacob, Bombay 23rd April 1844.

Inscriptions:

Bottom left-hand corner: ‘Exect. Engineers Office Aden, 20th December 1843’.

Lower right-hand corner: ‘Henry W.B. Bell 2nd Lieutt. Acting Executive Engineer’.
