The file contains correspondence regarding the establishment of a provident fund for government employees in Bahrain. The correspondence is between the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. in Bahrain and the Adviser to the Government of Bahrain (usually Charles Dalrymple Belgrave). The idea for such a fund is first suggested by Captain Charles Geoffrey Prior, the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. in Bahrain, in June 1929. The papers cover the discussion over the details.

Folios 9-11 are the Provident Fund Rules, as set out by the Bahrain Government.

Folio 20 is internal office notes.
