These volumes contain correspondence between the East India Company Factory An East India Company trading post. at Bussorah [Basra] and the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the Company in London, as well as the Bacha of Bagdat [ Pasha An Ottoman title used after the names of certain provincial governors, high-ranking officials and military commanders. of Baghdad], the Zand rulers of Persia [Iran], and the British Ambassador at the Porte [Ottoman Empire] from 16 January 1774 to 1 December 1783.
