(Wednesday) Morning next, the 13th inst., at Nine o'clock, to meet
SAMUEL BOWLY, President of the National Temperance League;
JAMES GALE, the Inventor of the process for rendering Gunpowder
inexplosive; and T. B. SMITHIES, Editor of the
Workman ; who will lay brief statements, on some important aspects
and bearings of the Temperance Reformation, before Members of the
Biitish Association for the Advancement of Science, 1 ' who may

kindly accept C harles S turge's invitation.
The presence of those accepting this invitation will not be taken
as at all necessarily implying approval of the views and operations of
Temperance Reformers ; while the free expression of the sentiments
of those present, on the subject generally, will be quite acceptable.
A frank interchange of opinion is wished for as a leading feature
of the interview.
B reakfast will be ready at Nine o'clock; and it is expected
that the proceedings will terminate between Eleven and Twelve.
