The letter is informing the Bombay Government that Hajee Said (also spelt Syed) Mahomed Hossain Khan, who is proceeding to Muscat, has been provided with letters of introduction to the Imam of Muscat and the company's broker Often a local commercial agent in the Gulf who regularly performed duties of intelligence gathering and political representation. there.
Enclosed with the letter are two enclosures:
1 - Translation of a letter from Merza Abdol Vahab, Minister to the King of Persia to the Resident at Bushire.
The letter requests that the Resident provides Hajee Said Mahomed Hossain Khan with the necessary letters of recommendation to facilitate the removal of his family from India to Najaff.
2 - Translation of a firmaun [ firman A Persian word meaning a royal order or decree issued by a sovereign, used notably in the Ottoman Empire (sometimes written ‘phirmaund’). ] from Hossain Ali Merza [Ḥusayn ‘Alī Mirzā], Prince at Shiraz to the Resident at Bushire.
The firmaun requests that the Resident provides Hajee Said Mahomed Hossain Khan with the necessary letters of recommendation to facilitate the removal of his family from India to Najaff. It also asks for the Resident's assistance with facilitating his passage to India.
