The letter approves of the position taken by the Resident in relation to a communication sent by Sultan bin Sugger [Sulṭān bin Saqr Āl Qāsimī One of the ruling families of the United Arab Emirates; also used to refer to a confederation of seafaring Arabs led by the Qāsimī tribe from Ras al Khaima. ], with no information as to what the position is. Instructions are given to abstain from getting involved in any disputes that are likely to arise along the Gulf coast due to the growing Wahhabi presence there.
