Letter thanking Ross for his offer of hospitality at Gwador and informing him that he has been to Bombay to meet the new Governor (William Seymour Fitzgerald) and therefore must continue on to Bushire.

The letter goes on to discuss the Gwador Governor who wishes to visit Bombay and that although there is no objection to this, it could not be a public event as the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. would not wish to risk causing any jealousy with the Sultan of Muscat, or for him to doubt the fidelity of the Gwador Government to him.
