I have received your letter Ho.G/.1325 aaoed 10un
September 1944 corresponding to 22nd Ramadhan 1363 in which you
referred to our conversation the other night on the subject of
the suggestions of the Honourable•the
Political Resident
A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency.
regarding
the operation of banks in Bahrain and that tne object is to
safeguard the interests of the Sastern ~>ank and the Imperial ~>anjv
and to prevent any undue competition which might react
unfavourably on the interests of my country.
I willingly agree to the suggestion not ^o permit
the opening of any additioiWbank in Bahrain xor a period oi ten
years. On the expiry of this period, the country’s interests
is to be given due consideration.
