My dear Clauson,
We propose on, or immediately after, January 1st,
1937* send Mr. Basil Henry le Riolet Lermitte to
Bahrain to act there as Assistant to Mr. Packer.
He has been since 1932 in our Accounts Department
in Haifa and elsewhere in the Near East. Previously
to that he had banking experience in Egypt and the Sudan.
He was born in 1900, and educated at St. Paul’s School.
I give you these particulars well in advance, as I
know you like to be satisfied that people we are sending
to that area are unobjectionable from your point of view.
May we assume that in the present case this is so?
