(а) Having obtained 20 camels through Jemadar Jhanda Khan, Thanaddr
Assistance given to me in obtaining transport by Of IS Usllkl, ullO, with Ills Muliamr
the Thana stati' at Nushki. Ghulam. Muhammad, rendered me every
assistance, we marched to Kishingi.
(б) The road was good for the first two miles, but rough, rocky, and bad
between the 2nd and the 10th mile. The
Road between Nushki and Kishmgi. 0p g0 wag through tamarisk
iun^le. As the road is difficult and dangerous for laden camels at several
places, it is better for caravans to always do the march from Nushki to Kishingi
in day-light.
(t?) The well near the Thana being nearly dry and containing water
v 7 insufficient for the requirements of a
Wells at and near Kishingi. caravan, we did not go on to the Levy
post and camped near another well in the bed of a nalla in the tamarisk jungle,
about a mile from it towards Nushki. -This well contains plenty of good water,
and unless the chowki well is improved and the water-supply increased, it
would be better for caravans to stop at this well which is about ten miles from
N ushki.

Time taken by laden camels, 12J hours.
Distance, 24 miles.
Hoad, good.
Water, good, from three karezes.
Camel-grazing and grass plentiful.
Dire-wood and other supplies procurable.
(a) We passed Phaddin, a small village containing ten families of the
v ^ F llodim section of Brahms, at about the
Phaddia. 21st mile.
It would have been better for us to stop here for the convenience of the
camels but the guide having told us that Rodini was a better place and close
by we had to march on another three miles.
(b) Rodini is a small village containing ten families of Rodini Brahuis
^ ^ after whom it is called. These families

The Bodinis number about 60 families altogether, ten of whom are

Hodini — Halt.
My caravan delayed at Rodini for one day by sud
den death of eight camels supposed to have been
caused by effects of a poisonous plant in the tama
risk jungle at Kishingi.
(d) The sudden breaking down of eight
of our camels between Kishingi and
Rodini prevented our marching on, as
usual, and compelled us to halt here.
This sudden break-down is attributed to the effects of an unknown poison-
ous plant in the tamarisk jungle at Kishingi supposed to have been eaten
bv some of the camels. . . , .
One camel belonging to Hospital Assistant Abbas Ah died at Kishmgi,
nresumably from the effects of the plant in question.
Seven out of the eight camels belonging to the camelmen of my caravan
which remataed on the ?oad yesterday and could not come on died to-day.
All the camels that have died were no doubt weak and exhausted by *
