The file contains correspondence between the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , the Secretary of State for India, the Ministry of Information and the Wireless Telegraphy Board, discussing a proposal to jam Berlin Arabic radio broadcasts in the region of Bahrain, on account of their being listened to in preference to British radio broadcasts.
The file also contains correspondence between the High Commissioner, Palestine, and the Secretary of State for the Colonies, regarding the jamming of radio broadcasts in Bagdad [Baghdad], and the jamming and proposed exploitation of radio transmitters in Beirut.
