Ledger of the Macclesfield (spelled 'Macclesfeild' in the volume's title) [Captain Thomas Roberts/John Hurle], to accompany her voyage from England to Bombay and back, 1701-02. The ship called at Muscat and Mocha in 1702.
The ledger contains the accounts of pay and other financial records of each of the ship's crewmembers.
There is a list of the ship's crew, detailing wages per month and wages due, attached to folio 4, and a further list of the ship's crew, giving quality [rank] on folio 10.

There is an alphabetical index of names on folios 4-9, which refers to the accounts of individual crewmembers within the volume, in accordance with the original foliation.
- Physical characteristics
Foliation: the foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the inside front cover with 1, and terminates at the inside back cover with 45; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto The front of a sheet of paper or leaf, often abbreviated to 'r'. side of each folio. The volume includes a sequence of blank pages, ff 46-58, which have not been digitised.
