Correspondence to and from Charles Umpherston Aitchison, Secretary to the Government of India, Foreign Department and Colonel John Alexander Matthew Macdonald, Secretary to the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. , Military Department.

The correspondence relates to the measures taken by Pelly in regard to the administration of the Baroda state, the approval by the Government of India of these measures; and Pelly's thanks to the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. and the military officials stationed in Baroda for their assistance in all military matters.
