Letter thanking his Lordship for approving Pelly's request to take leave owing to his deteriorating eyesight which he needs to take precautions for, and discussing the causes of and possible solutions to it.
The letter continues by discussing Pelly's satisfaction with arrangements within the Rajpootana [Rājasthān] agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. and the cop-operation he has received from the local Chiefs and officers working for him.
The letter concludes by stating that although his leave is to last a year he would be happy to be recalled early if required.
