About this record
- Content
Report by Pelly of his travels from Bunder Abbass [Bandar Abbas] to Cape Jashk [Jask], via Minow [Minab], to view the shorelines and local inhabitants along the route of the proposed extension of the telegraph.
Pelly believed he was the first European to traverse this route and therefore his report contained detailed information on the layout of the land for general geographic interest.
Also enclosed is a report written by Dr William Henry Colvill containing geological notes and observations on the physical characteristics of the local inhabitants.
A sketch map of the route accompanies the report and is marked as folio 53.
A further copy of this report can be found at Mss Eur F126/52 with a copy of the map at Mss Eur F126/106
