Letter informing Charles Umpherston Aitchison, Foreign Secretary to the Government of India, that the Special Commission is expected to finish the following week and requesting instructions regarding proceedings against those persons, other than His Highness the Gaekwar, implicated in the plot to poison Colonel Robert Phayre.

The letter goes on to request instructions regarding the individuals implicated in the murders of Bhou Scindia and Govindjie Naique, whom he assumes cannot be released until the cases have been looked in to; and witnesses in both these cases and the attempted poisoning who are under police protection and for whom it may be detrimental to their lives to release them.

The letter also encloses reports from Doctor George Edwin Seward, Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. Surgeon, and Captain Freeman Henry Jackson, Assistant Resident showing the rules that have been enforced, arrangements made and treatment received by prisoners confined at the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. and prisoners implicated and accursed in the case of attempted poisoning of Colonel Robert Phayre.
