An account of the process which Sir Lewis Pelly was instructed to follow by the Government of India in arranging an interview with Damodhur Purt (the confidential secretary to the Gaekwar), and subsequently in holding an interview with the Gaekwar (Malharrao) in which the Gaekwar was offered the opportunity of making a full confession in regard to the charges being brought against him.
