This letter follows on from William Bruce's earlier letter to Captain Thomas Perronet Thompson, dated 2 April 1820 (see ff 35-36), in which Bruce promised to send supplies of water to Rasselkhyma [Ra's al-Khaymah]. In this letter, Bruce informs Thompson that the Dolphin bugulah [ buggalow Large trading vessel. ] proceeds to Rasselkhyma with water supplies. Bruce states that a cooper also proceeds to Rasselkhyma, on board the Eliza country ship. Bruce adds that Mr Spence, Commander of the Dolphin , has been directed to stop at the Island of Khen [Qeys] in order to fill up as much water as he possibly can. Bruce regrets that he was not able to arrange for the Liverpool to touch at Rasselkhyma. He encloses a statement with vouchers (not included).
