In this letter William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, delivers news of an agreement between His Highness the Imam of Muscat [Sa‘īd bin Sultān Āl Sa‘īd] and the Shaiks [Shaikhs] of Bahrain. The details of the agreement include an annual tribute of 30,000 German crowns, which is to be paid to His Highness, and the appointment of an agent who will reside at Bahrain on His Highness's behalf. Bruce states that the Persian Government has not been informed of this treaty.
