These remarks, which do not appear to be attached either to the previous letter or to the following item, concern the matter of which currency should be used for the payment of troops. William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, states that the German crown is more accurate than any other coin. However, he goes on to suggest that the most suitable currency for the payment of troops is the new Persian rupee.
