Letter regarding Pelly's success in getting the Persian authorities to lease Bunder Abbass [Bandar Abbas] to Muscat for eight years and the quieting down and re-establishing of trade in Muscat after three years upheaval.
The letter goes on to discuss Pelly's further success in getting the Shah of Persia to admit the right of British Subjects to purchase houses and property at Bushire; the question of Angam [Hengam] and the hopes it will become British and progress on the Abdee case which a special commissioner from Shiraz is working on.
The letter concludes with Pelly detailing his intention to return to England the following May and giving a brief description of the growing opium trade through the Gulf.
