This letter describes Balfour's approach and anchorage in a harbour at night, and a conversation with Sheikh [Shaikh] Alli (the brother of Mahomed bin Kaleefar) regarding the matter of a vessel belonging to a native of Sahsah coerced to enter the port and sell her cargo of grain. The conversation also regarded the matter of the disassociation people wished to make from the Chief of Demaum [Muḥammad bin ‘Abdullāh, Ad-Dammān], difficulties involved, the question of the Wahabee [Wahhabi] Chief and the role of the British in the matter, and also Lieutenant Whish's capture of three vessels. This letter is also summarised on folio 29v.
