Letter from Stephen Babington, Secretary to the Government at Bombay Castle, to Lieutenant William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, communicating the intention of Saad bin Abdel Azeez [Saud bin Abdel Aziz], Agent of the Chieftain of the Wahabees [Wahhabis], to establish a connection with the Company against the Joasimese [Qasimi] tribe and other Chieftains of the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , on the basis of the agreement signed by Captain David Seton, representing the East India Company, and Sheikh Abdulla Ben Croosh [Shaikh Abdullah bin Qasim bin Qurush Āl Qāsimī One of the ruling families of the United Arab Emirates; also used to refer to a confederation of seafaring Arabs led by the Qāsimī tribe from Ras al Khaima. ], representing the Joasimese tribe, on 6 February 1806 (copy attached).
