The letter is requesting an account current of supplies provided to the East India Company's cruizers employed in an expedition against the Joasmee [ Qawāsim One of the ruling families of the United Arab Emirates; also used to refer to a confederation of seafaring Arabs led by the Qāsimī tribe from Ras al Khaima. ] pirates in 1809/10, along with receipts or vouchers for arrack supplied to HMS Lion and the British Embassy to Persia in 1811 and 1812 respectively.
Enclosed is a copy of a letter from the Marine Board to Sir Evan Nepean, Baronet, President and Governor in Council, Bombay, dated 30 June 1815. The board is having difficulty auditing the accounts of the Marine Agent in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , and is therefore requesting the information outlined above.
