In this letter, Arnold Burrowes Kemball, Resident in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , refers to the plunder and destruction of a boat belonging to Hajee Yacoob [Hajji Yaqoob] by the people of Kirrah on the Persian Coast, which occurred seven years ago. Kemball proposes that he disburse to Hajee Yacoob the balance of the sum received on his account from the British Agent at Shiraz in June of last year.
