Letter expressing the hope that Pelly has fair weather for his voyage to Bombay; giving news of various friends including Sir George Clerk and Sir Robert Napier and of new arrivals including Colonel and Mrs Norman; the weather including an acount of the recent gales and her fears over their vessel reaching Madras; an update on her recent health; enquiring whether Pelly has accidentally acquired Sir Bartle's copy of McCulloch's dictionary and giving further news of other friends including Mr Laing and Colonel Bruce.
The letter also refers to an enclosed note from her daughter 'Georgie' which is no longer enclosed.
