Letter enquiring whether Pelly has charged the Major (name not given) with inappropriate conduct; regarding the report he is writing; and asking if Pelly can impress on Lord Northbrook the importance of Aden and the need for the harbour there to be dredged so the present generation of ships can enter it.

The letter also thanks Pelly for all the news of friends which he has sent on.
