The letter also discusses Sir Bartle's travels around England to visit friends accompanied by their daughters Katie and Georgie, and accounts of where the other children have been on their holidays.
Other matters mentioned include the murder of Judge John Paxton Norman in Calcutta, a request for old or curious coins that Pelly may come across and commenting on William Gifford Palgrave's return to England.
